• DNA Projects Portal a front end to a number of dna projects of interest to me, will eventually include the lineages and a haplogroup tree for those tested, and linked result grids, but the minimum is an overview of what may be found where for assorted names of interest

Surname DNA projects

The links below are to the overall summary information for the DNA projects concerned, held on the WorldFamilies Network.
Supplementary data, with more details and commentary can usually be found in the DNA Projects Portal Lineages section.
The first three projects were formed (by me) in Oct 2007 to test particular theories as to relationships of several families who are probably related, but we lacked any sort of proof.
The ROWE one was added Feb 2008, an already existing project I've assumed a co-ordinator role for, and the DAW(E) one set up from scratch shortly thereafter.
None are restricted to my particular families however, and the more participants the better as we may find (an have found) all sorts of connections between the lines being researched.
The FAIRBAIRN one already has shown that several Borders families are related where no paper trail exists, and the RUNCIMAN one proved a family rumour of a connection between the Scottish branch at Wanton Walls, Lauder, and the American branch in Michigan. Hopefully the SINTON one will shortly do so too (which it did in Nov 2008).
The FINLAYSON one was added Aug 2008 because one didn't exist and a friend wanted to see what dna testing could help him with.
WIGHT joined in the fun Apr 2009.
McADIE was set up May 2009.
FAMILTON joined the fun in Jun 2010

Spread the word, the more tests for comparison between lines the better.
